These morons have the time to get into the lot but they are just selfish. Most of the time they either take up a lot that is not designated for them or they take up 2 lots. I thought that was decent of him (or her?).

Finally, it would be interesting to know if the spotters (people who spot such inconsiderate parking) do go the further step of alerting the car park management, be it HDB, URA and their agents, the private property car park management or building security?

Getting them clamped, served with ticket or towed away is a better deterrent than posting them on a blog. But he need to convert the accelerator/ brake to hand control instead of foot throttle/ brake. He has a 4 door car. He got his license b4 he was disbale; guess, it would not be easy for those who dont have one and try to pass it.

Driving is not a problem, but him coming in/ out of vehicle is a problem. After opening the door, he need to get the wheel chair real close, transfer himeself in and than dismantle the wheel chair and bring it part by part thru ( while he's in the driver seat )into the rear or front passenger seat. ( It's really 'hard labour'). At times, he will fall off and couldnt pick himself up and have to wait for passerby ( if there's any1 to help ) to pick him up. At times, reaching destination, while he is trying to bring his wheel chair 'parts' out, he drop it outside beyond his reach ... :( wow, really crying for help !!

Sometimes, those stupid cashcard parking where you still need to insert card for payment when you exit ( most carpark now auto sensor ), if he drop it beyond his reach, damn, he wouldnt be able to pick it up, that's why he has a couple for standby, in case he drop it.

The expo cone thing is stupid, imagine my friend coming out, remove the cone, go back in again and than repeat the whole process again after parking the car.

He's my old classmate, know him for more than 30+ years. When you go out with him and see his hassle than you will realise their difficulty. Those 'hard labour' do not just stop at the lots cos not alot of buildings are disable friendly.

So .... for us able people...
1. Do not park at those diable lots.
2. Better stay clear of those lot, they need a big door opening to get in.
3. If you get to see some cashcard lying at the exit barrier, chances are theirs : )
4. Lastly, hope that if you see any handicap getting into their car ( if they are alone ); not asking you to help but at least keep an eye on them, in case they fall off while trying to get in, your assistance will be of great help.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23437934.post-1157353321989817722006-09-04T15:02:00.000+08:002006-09-04T15:02:00.000+08:00Expo carpark needs to use more cones to surround t...Expo carpark needs to use more cones to surround the handicap lots.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23437934.post-1157352935257544272006-09-04T14:55:00.000+08:002006-09-04T14:55:00.000+08:00To 2 post above.Simi common sense?
