This idiot driver thinks he's a pilot - needs the parking lot divider line to park. Well, he certainly centered it - the moron.

This Fiat driver is suffering from the anti-magnetic wall syndrome where he just is not skillful enough to park within his lot closer to the wall. So the idiot thinks it's ok to just park in two lots.

Here's a reversal of roles! A biker parked on a car lot. Just as idiotic as cars parked on bike lots. This clown is asking for trouble.

This is an unusual case compared to our usual bunch of idiots. Here is a road where illegal and inconsiderate parking is abound. All manner of trucks, prime movers, trailers are parked on both sides of the road througout the day. The road is a dual-carriageway divided by a single unbroken white line in the middle. This clearly means that there should be no parking on either side of the road. So this means that this is blatantly illegal parking.

Illegal parking aside, the manner in which all these huge vehicles are parked on both sides of the street cause continuous obstructions and road hazards to other road users. The contributor sent many photos, of which I picked just four to display.

I guess many of us may not understand the problems faced by the regular users of this stretch of road, where they have to navigate carefully through this long obstacle course, whilst driving against traffic along the middle of the road. The traffic police should take a closer look at this road - they could probably fill their monthly quota in a single sweep.

Here's an Opel who's driver thinks that being a van, nobody would dare to park near him. And thus he proceeds to park any old how. I wonder how he'd feel if someone clamped his wheels. What an idiot!

Parking Idiots in the News

Ok, time to brag a bit. Seems that this blog is getting some media coverage around the world.

You read the first newspaper article a few months ago in Today paper, by Mr Miyagi.

Then we were mentioned a few days ago in The New Paper.

Now, the news has spread to Europe!

We are featured in 2 mobile phone related web sites: Forbruker and Amobil. Well, the articles there are in Norwegian, so I can't really understand what they have written, (I just hope they are saying good things about this site! Ha! Ha! ...erm.. can anybody translate Norwegian?)

RSS/XML Feeds

There have been several requests for me to set up feeds to this blog, such as RSS.

At first, I did not know how to go about it. But after some tips from friendly readers, and some reading up on the web, I have managed to do it. You learn something new everyday!

Ok.. you can see the Feed link on the right navbar with a cute little orange icon , pointing to Parking Idiots in Singapore feed.

So all those who like Feeds - please go ahead and subscribe to this feed! Have fun!

Submission Guidelines

Guidelines on the submission of photos

1. Please email all photos as attachments to parkingidiot@gmail.com.

2. In your email, please include your return email address, so that I can acknowledge your submission, or inform you if the submission is not suitable for posting. I acknowledge all submissions, whether or not they are published.

3. If you do not wish to be identified by your own name, please include a nickname or pseudonym for me to use. If I do not get any indication of how you want to be addressed as a contributor, I shall use your initials or the most appropriate description available.

4. All photos must be clear enough to identify the offending vehicle, including the number plate. If you are unable to get the number plate in the picture, I would recommend taking more photos at different angles so that you can get the number plate in at least one of the photos. Submissions where the photos are unable to identify the vehicle, usually get rejected. Only some get published on a case by case basis - and must still include the car plate number. If you can't identify them, there's not much point in publishing them, is there?

5. All photos must clearly depict idiotic parking. What is idiotic parking?
- Any vehicle parking in a lot designated for something else - eg. cars/trucks parking on motorcyle lots, motorcycles parking on car lots, etc.
- Unauthorised parking on disability parking spaces.
- Vertical parking on horizontal lots and vice versa.
- Parking on more than 1 lot; parking over the boundary of a designated lot.
- Inconsiderate parking; blocking other traffic or pedestrians; parking onto the roads.
- Other such silly parking, not already mentioned.

6. Idiotic Parking does not necessarily mean illegal parking. We are not too concerned about purely illegal parking, as the authorities in Singapore are very capable of meting out justice to such drivers. However, where idiotic parking coincides with illegal parking, by all means, please submit your photos.

7. If you can provide a short description about the idiotic parking, this may be incorporated in my posting as deemed appropriate.

8. If you have photos on your mobile phone that you wish to SMS/MMS, please upload to a website like www.moblog.com.sg, which accepts SMS/MMS uploads, and then send me the link to the uploaded photo, with the various descriptions as required above. I am unable to receive SMS/MMS directly for now.

9. If you have a video clip, please upload to a video hosting site like youtube.com, and send me the link, with the various descriptions as required above.

10. Please assist to place a Parking Idiot flyer (you can download and print them from the links provided on the right margin of the blog) on the offending car. If you can include a picture of the flyer on the car, this will be most welcome. We want to let the idiot driver know that he's been caught on camera, and want him to come on to the blog and see and experience the shame of notoriety - so that he'll hopefully learn from his mistake.

11. Photos will be published on a first come, first served basis. Due to various reasons, publishing of photos may not be immediately upon receipt of the submission. Please be patient and watch the blog for updates. I shall definately inform you if your photo is published, or not (provided the return email address you give is valid).

12. If you have any further queries about photo submission, please email to me at parkingidiot@gmail.com, and I'll try my best to assist.

Happy phototaking!!

Another selfish driver occupying motorcycle lots even though there are ample carpark lots available, just to park closer to home, perhaps. Well... smile, you are on PI camera!

Poor lost Mitsubishi driver. Seems that this driver is not from this estate, according to the contributor, who had placed a "Parking Ticket" on the windshield. I think this driver is not from this planet - if this is the way they teach people to park in whichever dark place he crawled out of.

What can we say about this kind of monster truck parking at parking spaces designed for cars? It is obvious that they are too big for this kind of parking lot, and are not supposed to park here anyway. And due to their huge size, the manoeuvring in such narrow confines poses a considerable danger to other cars and passers by. Someone should fine this guy twice for illegal parking on 2 lots.

Looks like not only beemers, but this Alfa is also affected by lousy steering, being unable to navigate into a single parking lot. Maybe it's the condo .. having a strange effect on european cars .. or their drivers. Maybe they should all move out of this condo.

Yet another idiot beemer driver at the same carpark. Must be faulty steering in the beemers at this condo - the drivers should get the cars checked, or better still... get themselves checked in at the nearest driving school.

Condo carparks are also shared lots, so individuals like these who think their beemer is bigger than other cars and thus needing 2 lots, need a refresher lesson in parking, or a wheel clamping..... or both.

A Ferrari with a brand new number plate in a disability parking space. Now, I've seen it all. What, other lots are not good enough? Anyway, justice was served: a Parking Attendant issued a parking offence notice. Perhaps the number plate on the car should have given the owner an inkling of the state of his luck.
