Month-End Review (April)

Time for a break to say some things. We are now at 171 photos and counting. Response to the call for contributions has been overwhelming.

I have now a backlog of photos to put up - so an apology to all those contributors whose photos are still not up yet; I am working on them and you'll definately see your photos up, please hang on a little while longer. (Perhaps I should consider outsourcing, ha! ha!)

Please do keep the photos coming in, we shall definately upload all those of genuine idiotic parking. I reply to every mail I receive (except for the hate-mail, there's a few of those, probably by embarassed parking idiots who've been caught!)

I have received more suggestions to improve the blog - and one of them is to have a chart of which make or type of vehicle is caught most often parking like an idiot. This is a great idea, so I shall create such a chart very soon.

There are also very interesting and diverse comments in the comments section of each posts - some posts garnering nearly 35 comments. Views from both sides - for and against the particular idiotic parking instance. I think it's good to have diverse viewpoints, and to try and see the situation from all sides; so long as it does not degenerate to flinging about of obscenities, I'll leave the comments as they are.

There are a few regular contributors and commentors now. Some very vocal ones, suggesting (tongue-in-cheek, of course) that we vandalise the offending cars. Please do not take these comments seriously, as the author merely is venting frustration and does not intend for anyone to actually do so. Anyway, if anyone does go around vandalising property, the fault is definately his own, and responsibility lies with oneself.

One thing I have learned from this blog is to be extremely careful in my own parking!! It would be so ironical and embarassing to be caught parking like an idiot myself, and have to post my own car's picture!! Ha! ha!... hmm...

PI, great job...
would have loved to see some of that hatemail but i suppose they do not deserve the attention and space.

Would you also consider a chart (when you have time) for the most common parking error/offence and the top 10 parking idiot haunts?

If the authorities and carpark aunties are reading this, at least they know what to look out for and where they would most likely make their quotas.

Cheers!

I would like to comment on the suggestion of having a chart on the make/type of vehicle.

I have my reservations on how useful it is. After all, it is always the drivers and not the type/make of car. Of cos, some may argued that the SUV seems to be featured more promimently that other type of cars, but MPVs are not much smaller and you dun see a lot of them being featured. So its definitely possible to park a SUVs properly and in a considerate manner if the driver exercise enough consideration when he parks.

And tongue-in-cheek or not, I would suggest refraining from making (and possibly removing)comments about vandalising cars that are parked idiotically. If a car that was featured on this blog was vandalised and there was a comment on vandalising the car, can that not be regarded as plasible cause to initiate action??
